At SPE Energy (SPEE) we are a Team of Engineers that shape and support engineering and construction for our diverse customer base who provide to millions of people across the UK. We have a small Team of talent, based in Abercarn, combining strength, innovation, and dedication to ensure sustainability for all Stakeholders.
We design, manufacture, deliver and provide services for HV Switchboards and RVCB’s across key sectors, Power and Energy, Water, Light and Heavy Industrial, across the UK as well as globally.
We believe in supporting our Team and expect, through mutual engagement, contributions from each Team Member concerning aspects of product design, assembly, and operation to ensure we have continual improvement for the benefit of all.
The successful applicant will be responsible for various site and workshop activities within SPE Energy.
Working from the Abercarn facility reporting directly to the Power Distribution Engineering Manager (PDEM). The successful applicant will be working on, but not limited to project-based activities, maintenance, servicing, and fault finding on Site with other Team Members or in our Abercarn facility.
SPEE and Customer specific OHS legal compliance. You must be responsible and accountable for your own activities on site and at our Abercarn facility, abide by specific procedures highlighted in the relevant inductions.
Near miss reporting activities to be completed.
Multiple Projects are run in parallel with one another, requiring a flexible approach. Projects are mostly National but International Projects do occur from time to time. The successful applicant will be required to partake in all activities relating to the projects, from initial build, using schematic diagrams to wire, assembly of panels for various products, testing the completed product, installation, final commissioning, and testing onsite.
The type of testing, mentioned above, is the base of the work; on the job training will be given as well as external training where relevant. Subject to experience of the applicant the level of the position on offer will be determined at the interview stage.
Nice to have – the successful applicant to have the ability to design HV 11kV Systems to Customer requirements.
Indentured Electrical Apprenticeship. HNC in Electrical Engineering – Relevant experience in similar posts will be considered if this can be demonstrated. 5 GCSE or equivalent Grade C or above must include Mathematics. 2 Years experience in an Electrical / Engineering role with 11kV Equipment Experience would be advantageous.
